COMMENTS OF THE ELECTRIC POWER SUPPLY ASSOCIATION ON STANDARDS OF CONDUCT FOR TRANSMISSION PROVIDERS

EPSA is the national trade association representing competitive power suppliers. EPSA and its members support fuel diversity for electric generation while recognizing the current importance and economic efficiency of natural gas fired generation. Demonstrating the importance of natural gas as a fuel for generation, approximately 61 gigawatts (“GW”) of the 68 GWs added to the U.S. grid from 1997-2000 use natural gas as their primary fuel. As a result, EPSA’s members have an interest in the efficient operation of the natural gas transportation grid as well as the electric transmission grid.
