Preface

Pursuant to Sections 211 and 214 of the Rules of Practice and Procedure of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC or Commission), 18 C.F.R. §§ 385.211 and 214, the Electric Power Supply Association (EPSA) files this motion for leave to intervene and comment in the above-captioned proceeding. On May 27, 2005, Entergy Services, Inc., acting for Entergy Operating Companies, submitted a filing to the Commission pursuant to Section 205 of the Federal Power Act (FPA), 16 U.S.C. 824d, and Section 35 of the Commission’s regulations. On June 3, 2005, the following independent generators - Cottonwood Energy Company LP, KGen Power Management Inc., NRG Energy Inc., Suez Energy North America Inc. and Union Power Partners LP (collectively Independent Generators) - filed an intervention and request for an immediate technical conference “to allow parties to obtain clarification” of Entergy’s May 27, 2005 filing. EPSA supports this request.
