The Commission’s Law Enforcement Program assists the states in coordinating their law enforcement efforts through data exchange and problem identification. The program’s primary objective is to ensure that the law enforcement provisions of the Commission’s fishery management plans are adequate. The program is coordinated through the activities of the Commission's Law Enforcement Committee, which includes law enforcement representatives from the 15 Atlantic coastal states, the District of Columbia, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Coast Guard.
